A little taste of the thinking

Three small puzzles. Three ways to think.

Try them together, choose an answer and explore the explanation. No sign-up or timer.

The pattern machine

The machine moves the first shape to the end. What comes out after it runs once?

Move first to last
Show the explanation

Exactly! The circle moves to the end. The triangle and square keep their order.

Find the route

Move from the dot to the star. Each arrow moves one square. Which route avoids the blocked squares?

Show the explanation

B is correct! Move right twice, then up twice. You reach the star without entering a blocked square.

Crack the code

Each shape stands for a number. Use the key to read the three-shape message.

Show the explanation

C is correct! Square means 3, circle means 1 and triangle means 2. Keep their order: 312.

More than finding the right answer.

Bebras gives curious minds something interesting to work on. Each challenge begins with a problem to explore.

01 / NOTICE

Spot the pattern

Find connections in shapes, sequences and everyday situations.

02 / EXPLORE

Try another approach

Break a problem into smaller steps and see what changes.

03 / REASON

Explain the idea

Think about why an answer works, as well as which answer to choose.
